Art Wants to Be Free

Authorship is inherently cumulative. Every work anyone creates includes at least some elements copied from other works: ideas, words, sounds, images. It’s hard to know whether copying in order to create a work is fair, but it’s impossible to know whether using a work that includes copied elements is fair, if it depends on how it’s used.

Anna Lukia

I am a Fellow in Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Ph.D. in Law candidate at the University of Cambridge, working on a project entitled ‘Towards a Jurisprudence of Evil Law’.

My research interests include legal theory, legal history, and public law.

I also tweet and play video games (you can bet I’ve written a paper about it too!).
